Meet your therapist!
Meet your therapist!
Hi, I’m Sadie Lipman, LMHC. I’m a licensed therapist in the state of Florida, currently living in Virginia, where I’m in the process of expanding my practice.
I’ve known I wanted to be a therapist since I was 14. I was a kid trying to figure out my own mind when a family friend offered me a book, It’s Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini. It's a novel about a teen navigating suicidal thoughts and finding connection and healing in an inpatient psychiatric unit. The story’s focus on art therapy really resonated with me. As a hobby artist who used creative expression as a way to process emotions growing up, something clicked. I realized that sitting with people in their pain and helping them find their own way forward was something I deeply wanted to do.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2017, focusing on social psychology and interpersonal relationships, and later completed my Master's in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling at the University of South Florida in 2020, with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy.
In the early stages of my career, I worked in a variety of settings—from an emergency shelter for children just entering the foster system, to a community outpatient clinic. I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals, couples, families, and clients of all ages. These experiences shaped the way I show up in sessions: grounded, compassionate, and attuned to the complexity of people’s lives.
Eventually, I moved into private telehealth care, working for an online mental health company where I began to envision what a practice built around my values could look like. In 2023, I started Roadmap Psychotherapy. In April 2024, I took the leap into full-time private practice.
Now that I’m settled in Virginia, I’m working toward licensure here, with the goal of welcoming Virginia-based clients into my practice. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, relationship struggles, identity questions, or just feeling stuck, I’m here to offer a space that’s warm, nonjudgmental, and centered on your goals.
